Peer Review Process

GSB Insight: Journal of Business and Research follows a double-blind peer review process, in which both authors and reviewers remain anonymous. The journal is committed to maintaining high standards of academic integrity, quality, and objectivity.

1. Submission & Initial Screening

Authors submit their manuscripts through the journal’s online submission system.

The editorial team conducts an initial screening to assess:

  • Relevance to the journal’s scope
  • Compliance with submission guidelines
  • Basic methodological soundness
  • Ethical standards

All submissions are screened using plagiarism detection software.

Manuscripts that do not meet the journal’s requirements may be returned to authors for revision or rejected.

2. Assignment to Reviewers

The manuscript is anonymised to remove all author-identifying information.

It is assigned to at least one independent reviewer, and typically two reviewers, with relevant subject expertise.

The journal makes every effort to obtain two independent reviews. However, in cases where reviewer availability is limited, a single reviewer may be assigned.

All reviewers are expected to have no conflicts of interest with the authors or the research.

3. Peer Review Evaluation

Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on the following criteria:

  • Originality & Contribution – Novelty and significance of the research
  • Methodology – Appropriateness of research design and validity of analysis
  • Clarity & Structure – Organization, coherence, and academic writing quality
  • References & Ethics – Proper citation and adherence to ethical standards

Reviewers provide one of the following recommendations:

  • Accept
  • Minor Revisions
  • Major Revisions
  • Reject

4. Author Revisions & Re-evaluation

Authors receive reviewer comments and are required to submit:

  • A revised manuscript
  • A detailed response to reviewer comments

Revised manuscripts may be sent for further review if necessary.

5. Editorial Decision & Quality Assurance

The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision based on reviewer reports and editorial judgment.

In cases where only one reviewer report is available, the Editor-in-Chief undertakes an additional independent evaluation to ensure the quality, fairness, and integrity of the review process.

The final decision may be:

  • Accept
  • Revise
  • Reject

Accepted manuscripts proceed to copyediting and publication.

6. Publication

The final, proofread version of the article is published online.

Authors are notified upon publication.

Conflict of Interest

Reviewers and editors are required to disclose any conflicts of interest and must recuse themselves from the review process where such conflicts exist.

Commitment to Quality and Transparency

The journal strives to obtain at least two independent reviews for each submission whenever possible and is committed to maintaining transparency, fairness, and academic rigour throughout the peer review process.
